Field of Study refers to the official category of the course as NASBA (National Association State Boards of Accountancy) would classify it. Topic allows you to be more specific when searching certain technical topics. For example, NASBA classifies all tax courses under the Taxes field of Study. Topic allows you to search for specific tax topics such as corporate taxation, individual taxation, state taxation, etc.
What is the difference between topic and field of study in the search filters?
A program is a group of courses that your site administrator has put together. The programs can be used to create Curriculum Paths for your company's employees based on their role, location, specialty area, etc.
What is a program?
Professional licenses are granted by governing bodies such as the Government Accountability Offer (GAO) for Government Auditors, or state boards of accountancy for CPAs. Most governing bodies require licensees to take courses at regular intervals to ensure that their knowledge remains current. Courses designed to meet these requirements are known as Continuing Professional Education Courses, or CPEs. Frequently, the course requirements will vary with each governing body. Practitioners should consult with the applicable licensing organization(s) to understand their specific CPE requirements.
What are Continuing Education Courses, and why do I need to take them?

Each profession has a different set of requirements for continuing professional education, and these requirements will change from time to time. Always check with your CPE governing body on your continuing education requirements and the applicability of any specific courses to meeting those requirements. For your convenience, we have provided some helpful links in the sidebar to sources of information on CPE requirements for several tax and accounting professions, including on a state-by-state basis for CPAs governed by state boards of accountancy. Always check with your CPE governing body on your CPE requirements and the applicability of any specific courses to meeting those requirements.
How many credits do I need to maintain my professional license?
Responses
Compliance Issues
CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business is an approved sponsor on NASBA's National Registry and a QAS provider. This means that CCH courses meet certain standards that allow the CPE credit to be based on the actual completion time of the course rather than half the completion time that is awarded for some self-paced, non-interactive courses. However, not all governing bodies accept the higher credit awarded by National Registry and QAS standards. You should check with your state/professional licensing board to verify that it accepts NASBA National Registry or QAS credit prior to renewing your license.
Can I get interactive credit for CCH Learning Center courses?
Our NASBA sponsor number is 103021 and our QAS number is 007.
What is the sponsor number for CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business.
QAS stands for Quality Assurance Service sponsor and was implemented by NASBA at the request of the Florida Board of Accountancy. Under QAS, self-study providers such as CCH, are held to a higher standard for developing and providing quality continuing education courses. Some states will only accept self-study from QAS providers.
What is QAS?
CPAs in Florida, Tennessee, Minnesota, South Carolina and Oregon who wish to take a self-study course must take a course from a QAS provider.
Does my state board of accountancy require QAS Credit?
