Are recordings available?

Yes. We offer recordings of our programs as either an audio CD that can play in any CD player or as a CD-ROM that you play in your computer that allows you to hear the audio stream and view the slide presentation as the audience does during the live program. The recordings also include our Q&A sessions and come with the handout materials that are provided to the audience. You will also receive in your shipment any bonus publication that was offered with that program. CDs typically ship within a week of the live program date.

Can I get CPE credits for listening/watching the recording?

No. Per NASBA regulations, we are able to offer CPE only on the live presentation attendance.

How long do the programs last?

Our programs last two hours and provide two hours of CPE per NASBA regulations for continuing education for certified public accountants. Our programs also qualify for CPE credits for IRS Registered Tax Return Preparers, Enrolled Agents and Certified Financial Planners. We strongly advise that you set aside an extra 10 minutes to log in prior to the program and make sure everything at your location is functioning properly. And, if you’re watching in a group, you’ll likely want to have the conference room for extra time to discuss what you’ve heard.

What do I need to participate?

For best results, you’ll need a high-speed internet connection. Everything is browser-based, so you’ll not need to download any specialized software to access our events. Your computer will need to have sound capability to receive the streaming audio and we highly recommend that you use external speakers if you’re in a room with multiple people viewing the program. And, as always, you have the option to dial in via telephone for the audio. The instructions for that are included in the registration confirmation and reminder emails you receive from us.

What is the format for your program?

Our two-hour online seminars are delivered through a Web browser based system called omNovia. With this system, you’ll receive the slide presentation and audio stream through your computer over a high-speed internet connection. All you need is a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. The speaker’s audio is delivered along with the slide presentation through you computer. We also post written versions of the e-mailed questions during the Q&A session at the end of the presentation to make it easier for you to follow along while our speaker answers questions from the live program audience. You can submit your questions during the program via e-mail to seminars@cch.com. Individual speaker styles and topics vary, so some of our programs are lecture style and others are more interactive with polling questions and walk-throughs on how to fill out specific forms.
